All Through the House
Celebrations start at home with the people you love, good food, and some jolly jokes.
Holiday Horrors
Michele Huber (Creative) passed down a family tradition that might belong on the naughty list. Every year, she had to wait at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning until her parents called her down. Now she does it to her kids, who impatiently await her signal while she sips some coffee.
“We shout up about how incredible the tree looks and even gasp about the wonderful gifts we see under the tree. Every year I record a video of this torture. It’s incredible.” — Michele
Pajama Party
Katie Collins (Marketing Communications), Kimberly Watterson (Marketing Communications), and Maria Mainelli-Ajmo (Creative) share a tradition — pajamas! All of their families always get new PJs to get cozy in on Christmas.
“As my siblings and I have gotten older and our families have grown, we’ve started a new tradition of wearing Christmas PJs or ugly Christmas sweaters to our Christmas morning brunch.” — Kimberly
Let’s Get Cheesy
Nothing beats pizza. And Kristen Taggert (Marketing Communications) knows that better than anyone. Every year, she makes a few dozen loaves of her Great Grandma Rose’s pizza bread and passes them out during the season.
“I’ve been making it since I was very young and haven’t missed a year. My girls now help, especially with the cheese shredding.” — Kristen
Cling to Tradition
Every year, Ashley Miller’s (Client Services) grandma would put Santa clings on her fridge in a particular order, which was how you knew the holidays were started. After her grandmother passed, the clings were passed down to Ashley to keep the tradition going.
“The clings were getting old, so my dad got them framed for Christmas one year so I could keep them up for years. I now hang them in my living room each year, and my kids and I tell what we think is happening in the story.” — Ashley
