Brunner Raises More Than $2,000 for the 2018 Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Continuing to focus on community involvement and giving back, agency participates in local fundraising efforts

Pittsburgh, PA (October 17, 2018) – Memory is our most valued and precious intrinsic human quality. Memories shape our identities by enabling us to reflect on experiences, both good and bad, throughout our lives. So, the loss of this capacity is an understandably devastating occurrence. Unfortunately, though, according to the Alzheimer’s Association, this is the reality for more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, a progressive disease that affects memory, thinking and behavior.  

Inspired by the Alzheimer’s Association’s meaningful mission to combat this disease, Brunner initiated its first ever team as part of the Pittsburgh’s 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year, Brunner was one of more than 400 teams fundraising and taking part in the charge.

Together with its employees and a corporate donation, Brunner raised a total of $2,100, exceeding the agency’s overall goal of $2,000. Notably, Lindsay Grystar, project manager at Brunner, reached “Champion” status by raising over $500 for the Brunner team in honor of her father with nearly a dozen associates also donating their time and energy. Brunner employees also came together Saturday, Oct. 13, as they partook in the annual fundraising walk.

“Our hope is through involvement in efforts that work towards a cure for Alzheimer’s, no one else will have to experience such tragedy,” said Scott Morgan, president at Brunner. “We’re proud of our team and dedicate our efforts this year to the family members and friends of our employees who have battled, and are currently battling, this disease.”

The 2018 Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer’s has raised nearly $460,000 to date. Donations accepted through the end of the year will support the 2018 Walk fundraising goal. To donate, click here.
